Scottish Alternative Music Awards and More.
It's another varied weekend at ESP. We have a variety of our amps alongside the formidable Korg Triton Pro going to Troon this weekend for WinterStorm. WinterStorm is a weekend celebration of Classic Rock Scottish Style. The weekend of music will include bands such as Alcatraz, Anchor Lane, Gun and Cats in Space. The event will be held in Troon Concert Hall.
This Saturday also sees the return of the Scottish Alternative Music Awards at St Luke’s. Now in its twelfth year, the SAMAs have supported a range of award winning artists including Steg G, Zoe Graham, The Dunts, Gerry Cinnamon, Be Charlotte, Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5, Fatherson and Lewis Capaldi. The awards will showcase some of Scotland’s best emerging talent in various categories including best acoustic, best electronic, best hip hop, best live act, best metal, best newcomer and best rock/alternative. The winners are based on votes from fans all across Scotland. The night will also feature live sets from Union of Knives, Taaliah and LVRA. We’ll be supplying DJ Gear for the ceremony.
We also have another busy weekend delivering DJ Gear across the city. We’ll be supplying the DJ equipment to O2 Academy on both Friday and Saturday. On Friday the Academy hosts the final night of the Foreverland tour. The night is billed as a night of “sensual sounds and mind-bending visual where you’ll find yourself entwined in fluorescent vines and gardens” Expect interactive walkabout characters, trippy neon themed decorations, giant hanging inflatables, C02 jets, sparks and confetti explosions, psychedelic dip painting, and more. There will be performances by James Hype and Second City. We’ll be dropping it off again to the Academy the following night for Hardstyle Superheroes on Saturday. Dutch DJ duo Brennan Heart will be leading a night of hardstyle dance music alongside Sefa, Soundrush and Villain.
